Installation method:
1. Before starting the installation, disconnect the battery negative cable and use the wheel wedge to block the wheels of the vehicle.
2. The hole on the firewall must be aligned with the hole in the upper arm of the accelerator pedal. Determine exactly where throttle cables need to pass through the firewall.
3. Remove the carbohydrate end assembly. Pull the inner wire out of the cable housing.
4. Insert the firewall from the engine side.
5. Insert the throttle cable regulator into the cable mounting bracket. Note: There must be some slack to allow the engine to move.
6. Reinstall the internal wires into the cable housing from the passenger compartment. Connect the U-clip (or ball end if the clip is removed) to the accelerator pedal.
7. Connect the carbohydrate end assembly to the throttle arm. Tighten the nuts.
8. Cut the inner wire so that approximately 1 inch of the inner wire remains inside the carbohydrate end assembly.
9. Insert the inner wire into the carbohydrate end assembly. Pull out all the slack from the inner thread and tighten the set screw in the carbohydrate end assembly.
10. Check that the throttle is operating properly (or downshift if equipped) and adjust as needed. Make sure there is no binding in the throttle linkage and that the throttle returns to the closed position when the pedal is released.
